| الْقَارِعَةُ {١} |
1. What is the calamity? |
| مَا الْقَارِعَةُ {٢} |
2. And what will make thee know how terrible is the calamity? |
| وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الْقَارِعَةُ {٣} |
3. The day wherein men will be as scattered moths, |
| يَوْمَ يَكُونُ النَّاسُ كَالْفَرَاشِ الْمَبْثُوثِ {٤} |
4. And the mountains will be as carded wool. |
| وَتَكُونُ الْجِبَالُ كَالْعِهْنِ الْمَنْفُوشِ {٥} |
5. Then as for him whose measure (of good deeds) is heavy, |
| فَأَمَّا مَنْ ثَقُلَتْ مَوَازِينُهُ {٦} |
6. He will live a pleasant life. |
| فَهُوَ فِي عِيشَةٍ رَاضِيَةٍ {٧} |
7. And as for him whose measure (of good deeds) is light, |
| وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَازِينُهُ {٨} |
8. The abyss is a mother to him. |
| فَأُمُّهُ هَاوِيَةٌ {٩} |
9. And what will make thee know what that is? |
| وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا هِيَهْ {١٠} |
10. A burning Fire. |
| نَارٌ حَامِيَةٌ {١١} |
11. Abundance diverts you, |
