| وَالْعَصْرِ {١} | 1. By the time (of the advent of Islam), |
| إِنَّ الْإِنْسَانَ لَفِي خُسْرٍ {٢} | 2. the human being is doomed to suffer loss, |
| إِلَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالْحَقِّ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالصَّبْرِ {٣} | 3. except the righteously striving believers who exhort each other to truthful purposes and to patience. |
