| قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ {١} | 1. SAY: "I SEEK refuge with the Lord of rising day |
| مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ {٢} | 2. From the evil of what He has created, |
| وَمِنْ شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ {٣} | 3. And the evil of evening darkness when it overspreads, |
| وَمِنْ شَرِّ النَّفَّاثَاتِ فِي الْعُقَدِ {٤} | 4. From the evil of sorceresses who blow incantations on knots, |
| وَمِنْ شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ {٥} | 5. From the evil of the envier when he envies. |
