 |
| وَالذَّارِيَاتِ ذَرْوًا {١} |
1. (I swear) By the wind that scatters far and wide, |
| فَالْحَامِلَاتِ وِقْرًا {٢} |
2. And those that lift and bear heavy loads, |
| فَالْجَارِيَاتِ يُسْرًا {٣} |
3. And those that flow with ease and gentleness, |
| فَالْمُقَسِّمَاتِ أَمْرًا {٤} |
4. And those that distribute and apportion by Our command; |
| إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَصَادِقٌ {٥} |
5. That of which you are warned is most surely true, |
| وَإِنَّ الدِّينَ لَوَاقِعٌ {٦} |
6. And the judgment must most surely come about. |
| وَالسَّمَاءِ ذَاتِ الْحُبُكِ {٧} |
7. 1 swear by the heaven (sky) full of paths (orbits). |
| إِنَّكُمْ لَفِي قَوْلٍ مُخْتَلِفٍ {٨} |
8. Most surely you are in doctrines (opinions, teachings, ideologies) discordant (or inconsistent or contradictory), |
| يُؤْفَكُ عَنْهُ مَنْ أُفِكَ {٩} |
9. He is turned away by them from truth, who would be (or wishes to be) turned away. |
| قُتِلَ الْخَرَّاصُونَ {١٠} |
10. Cursed be the conjecturers (or lie-mongers), |
| الَّذِينَ هُمْ فِي غَمْرَةٍ سَاهُونَ {١١} |
11. Who flounder heedless in an abyss (of ignorance and confusion). |
| يَسْأَلُونَ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ الدِّينِ {١٢} |
12. They ask, "When will be the day of judgment?" |
| يَوْمَ هُمْ عَلَى النَّارِ يُفْتَنُونَ {١٣} |
13. It is the day on which they shall be tried at the Fire. |
| ذُوقُوا فِتْنَتَكُمْ هَٰذَا الَّذِي كُنْتُمْ بِهِ تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ {١٤} |
14. Taste you your torment! This is what you sought to hasten. |
| إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّاتٍ وَعُيُونٍ {١٥} |
15. Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in Gardens and Springs. |
| آخِذِينَ مَا آتَاهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا قَبْلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُحْسِنِينَ {١٦} |
16. Taking joy in what their Lord gives them; surely they were before that, the doers of good. |
| كَانُوا قَلِيلًا مِنَ اللَّيْلِ مَا يَهْجَعُونَ {١٧} |
17. They used to sleep but little in the night. |
| وَبِالْأَسْحَارِ هُمْ يَسْتَغْفِرُونَ {١٨} |
18. And in the morning they prayed for forgiveness. |
| وَفِي أَمْوَالِهِمْ حَقٌّ لِلسَّائِلِ وَالْمَحْرُومِ {١٩} |
19. And in their wealth a portion was allotted for him who asked (the needy) and to him who was denied (the outcast, the deprived person or the one who could not ask). |
| وَفِي الْأَرْضِ آيَاتٌ لِلْمُوقِنِينَ {٢٠} |
20. And in the earth there are signs for those who have sure faith, |
| وَفِي أَنْفُسِكُمْ ۚ أَفَلَا تُبْصِرُونَ {٢١} |
21. And also in your own souls; will you not then see? |
| وَفِي السَّمَاءِ رِزْقُكُمْ وَمَا تُوعَدُونَ {٢٢} |
22. And in the heaven is your sustenance and that which you are promised. |
| فَوَرَبِّ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ إِنَّهُ لَحَقٌّ مِثْلَ مَا أَنَّكُمْ تَنْطِقُونَ {٢٣} |
23. And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! It is most surely the truth, even as you speak. |
| هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ ضَيْفِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْمُكْرَمِينَ {٢٤} |
24. Has there come to you information about the honoured guests of Abraham? |
| إِذْ دَخَلُوا عَلَيْهِ فَقَالُوا سَلَامًا ۖ قَالَ سَلَامٌ قَوْمٌ مُنْكَرُونَ {٢٥} |
25. When they entered his presence they said, "Peace. Peace." Said he, "What a strange people." |
| فَرَاغَ إِلَىٰ أَهْلِهِ فَجَاءَ بِعِجْلٍ سَمِينٍ {٢٦} |
26. Then he turned aside to his family secretly and brought a fat (roasted) calf, |
| فَقَرَّبَهُ إِلَيْهِمْ قَالَ أَلَا تَأْكُلُونَ {٢٧} |
27. And placed it before them. He said, "What! Will you not eat?" |
| فَأَوْجَسَ مِنْهُمْ خِيفَةً ۖ قَالُوا لَا تَخَفْ ۖ وَبَشَّرُوهُ بِغُلَامٍ عَلِيمٍ {٢٨} |
28. (When they did not eat) he conceived in his mind a fear of them. They said, "Fear not." And they gave him the good news of a son endowed with knowledge. |
| فَأَقْبَلَتِ امْرَأَتُهُ فِي صَرَّةٍ فَصَكَّتْ وَجْهَهَا وَقَالَتْ عَجُوزٌ عَقِيمٌ {٢٩} |
29. Then his wife came up in great grief, and she struck her face and said, "An old barren woman!" |
| قَالُوا كَذَٰلِكِ قَالَ رَبُّكِ ۖ إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْحَكِيمُ الْعَلِيمُ {٣٠} |
30. They said, "Thus says your Lord: Surely He is the Wise, the Knowing." |
| قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُمْ أَيُّهَا الْمُرْسَلُونَ {٣١} |
31. He said, "What is your errand then, O Messengers!" |
| قَالُوا إِنَّا أُرْسِلْنَا إِلَىٰ قَوْمٍ مُجْرِمِينَ {٣٢} |
32. They said, "Surely we are sent to a guilty people, |
| لِنُرْسِلَ عَلَيْهِمْ حِجَارَةً مِنْ طِينٍ {٣٣} |
33. "That we may send down upon them stone of clay (or brimstones), |
| مُسَوَّمَةً عِنْدَ رَبِّكَ لِلْمُسْرِفِينَ {٣٤} |
34. "Sent forth from your Lord for the extravagant (those who transgress beyond bounds)." |
| فَأَخْرَجْنَا مَنْ كَانَ فِيهَا مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ {٣٥} |
35. Then We brought forth such believers as were therein. |
| فَمَا وَجَدْنَا فِيهَا غَيْرَ بَيْتٍ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ {٣٦} |
36. But We found not therein but one house of those who had Surrendered (Muslims). |
| وَتَرَكْنَا فِيهَا آيَةً لِلَّذِينَ يَخَافُونَ الْعَذَابَ الْأَلِيمَ {٣٧} |
37. And We left therein a sign for those who fear the grievous penalty. |
| وَفِي مُوسَىٰ إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَاهُ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ بِسُلْطَانٍ مُبِينٍ {٣٨} |
38. And in Moses (was another sign). When We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority. |
| فَتَوَلَّىٰ بِرُكْنِهِ وَقَالَ سَاحِرٌ أَوْ مَجْنُونٌ {٣٩} |
39. But he turned away with his forces and said, "A sorcerer or a mad man." |
| فَأَخَذْنَاهُ وَجُنُودَهُ فَنَبَذْنَاهُمْ فِي الْيَمِّ وَهُوَ مُلِيمٌ {٤٠} |
40. So We seized him and his hosts and hurled them into the sea and his was the blame. |
| وَفِي عَادٍ إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ الرِّيحَ الْعَقِيمَ {٤١} |
41. And in A´ad (was another sign). When We sent upon them the destructive wind. |
| مَا تَذَرُ مِنْ شَيْءٍ أَتَتْ عَلَيْهِ إِلَّا جَعَلَتْهُ كَالرَّمِيمِ {٤٢} |
42. It spared naught on which it blew, but made it like dust. |
| وَفِي ثَمُودَ إِذْ قِيلَ لَهُمْ تَمَتَّعُوا حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ {٤٣} |
43. And in Thamud (was another sign). When it was said to them, "Enjoy yourselves for a while." |
| فَعَتَوْا عَنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّهِمْ فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الصَّاعِقَةُ وَهُمْ يَنْظُرُونَ {٤٤} |
44. But they revolted against the commandment of their Lord, so the rumbling (thunderbolt or stunning noise of an earthquake) overtook them while they looked. |
| فَمَا اسْتَطَاعُوا مِنْ قِيَامٍ وَمَا كَانُوا مُنْتَصِرِينَ {٤٥} |
45. And they were not able to rise up, nor could they defend themselves. |
| وَقَوْمَ نُوحٍ مِنْ قَبْلُ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا قَوْمًا فَاسِقِينَ {٤٦} |
46. And the people of Noah (were also a sign) before that, surely they were a transgressing people. |
| وَالسَّمَاءَ بَنَيْنَاهَا بِأَيْدٍ وَإِنَّا لَمُوسِعُونَ {٤٧} |
47. And the heaven, We raised it high with power, and it is We that expand the vastness of space (or We are the expanders of it). |
| وَالْأَرْضَ فَرَشْنَاهَا فَنِعْمَ الْمَاهِدُونَ {٤٨} |
48. And the earth, We have spread it out; how gracious was the Spreader thereof. |
| وَمِنْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقْنَا زَوْجَيْنِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ {٤٩} |
49. And of all things have We created pairs, that you may reflect (or receive instruction). |
| فَفِرُّوا إِلَى اللَّهِ ۖ إِنِّي لَكُمْ مِنْهُ نَذِيرٌ مُبِينٌ {٥٠} |
50. Therefore flee unto Allah, surely I am a plain Warner to you from Him. |
| وَلَا تَجْعَلُوا مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا آخَرَ ۖ إِنِّي لَكُمْ مِنْهُ نَذِيرٌ مُبِينٌ {٥١} |
51. And set not up with Allah another God: surely I am a plain Warner to you from Him. |
| كَذَٰلِكَ مَا أَتَى الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ مِنْ رَسُولٍ إِلَّا قَالُوا سَاحِرٌ أَوْ مَجْنُونٌ {٥٢} |
52. Thus there did not come to those before them a messenger but they said, "(He is) A sorcerer or a mad man." |
| أَتَوَاصَوْا بِهِ ۚ بَلْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ طَاغُونَ {٥٣} |
53. Is this the legacy (or tradition) they have transmitted to each other? Nay! They are a people extravagant (transgressing beyond bounds). |
| فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ فَمَا أَنْتَ بِمَلُومٍ {٥٤} |
54. Then turn your back upon them for you are not to blame; |
| وَذَكِّرْ فَإِنَّ الذِّكْرَىٰ تَنْفَعُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ {٥٥} |
55. And continue to teach (or remind), for surely the reminder profits the believers. |
| وَمَا خَلَقْتُ الْجِنَّ وَالْإِنْسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ {٥٦} |
56. And I have not created the jinn and mankind except to worship (serve) Me. |
| مَا أُرِيدُ مِنْهُمْ مِنْ رِزْقٍ وَمَا أُرِيدُ أَنْ يُطْعِمُونِ {٥٧} |
57. No sustenance do I require from them, nor do I require that they should feed Me. |
| إِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الرَّزَّاقُ ذُو الْقُوَّةِ الْمَتِينُ {٥٨} |
58. Surely it is Allah Who is the Bestower of sustenance, the Lord of Power, the ever Steadfast. |
| فَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا ذَنُوبًا مِثْلَ ذَنُوبِ أَصْحَابِهِمْ فَلَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونِ {٥٩} |
59. And lo! Those who do wrong shall have a portion like the portion of those of earlier generations, therefore let them not ask Me to hasten. |
| فَوَيْلٌ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْ يَوْمِهِمُ الَّذِي يُوعَدُونَ {٦٠} |
60. Woe to those who disbelieve because of their Day which they are promised. |
