| إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انْفَطَرَتْ {١} |
1. When the heavens are cleft asunder, |
| وَإِذَا الْكَوَاكِبُ انْتَثَرَتْ {٢} |
2. And when the stars are dispersed, |
| وَإِذَا الْبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتْ {٣} |
3. And when the oceans are suffered to burst forth, |
| وَإِذَا الْقُبُورُ بُعْثِرَتْ {٤} |
4. And when the graves are overturned, |
| عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَا قَدَّمَتْ وَأَخَّرَتْ {٥} |
5. Every soul shall know what it has sent before and held back. |
| يَا أَيُّهَا الْإِنْسَانُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ الْكَرِيمِ {٦} |
6. O man! What has beguiled you from your Lord, the Gracious one, |
| الَّذِي خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّاكَ فَعَدَلَكَ {٧} |
7. Who created you, then completed your form in due proportions, then gave you balance (or an inclination to reason and justice)? |
| فِي أَيِّ صُورَةٍ مَا شَاءَ رَكَّبَكَ {٨} |
8. Into whatever form He wills He castes you. |
| كَلَّا بَلْ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِالدِّينِ {٩} |
9. Nay! But you deny the judgment, |
| وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ لَحَافِظِينَ {١٠} |
10. And most surely there are guardians over you |
| كِرَامًا كَاتِبِينَ {١١} |
11. Honourable recorders, |
| يَعْلَمُونَ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ {١٢} |
12. They know what you do. |
| إِنَّ الْأَبْرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيمٍ {١٣} |
13. Verily, the righteous are in bliss, |
| وَإِنَّ الْفُجَّارَ لَفِي جَحِيمٍ {١٤} |
14. And verily, the wicked are in burning fire, |
| يَصْلَوْنَهَا يَوْمَ الدِّينِ {١٥} |
15. They shall enter it on the Day of Judgment. |
| وَمَا هُمْ عَنْهَا بِغَائِبِينَ {١٦} |
16. And they shall by no means be absent from it. |
| وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الدِّينِ {١٧} |
17. And what will convey unto you what the Day of Judgment is? |
| ثُمَّ مَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الدِّينِ {١٨} |
18. Again, what will convey unto you what the Day of Judgment Is? |
| يَوْمَ لَا تَمْلِكُ نَفْسٌ لِنَفْسٍ شَيْئًا ۖ وَالْأَمْرُ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلَّهِ {١٩} |
19. The day on which no soul shall control anything for another soul; and the command on that day shall be entirely Allah´s. |
