| إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انْفَطَرَتْ {١} |
1. When the heaven splits open. |
| وَإِذَا الْكَوَاكِبُ انْتَثَرَتْ {٢} |
2. And when the stars fall down. |
| وَإِذَا الْبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتْ {٣} |
3. And when the oceans are swept away. |
| وَإِذَا الْقُبُورُ بُعْثِرَتْ {٤} |
4. And when the graves are overturned. |
| عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَا قَدَّمَتْ وَأَخَّرَتْ {٥} |
5. Every soul will come to know what it has sent ahead and what it left behind. |
| يَا أَيُّهَا الْإِنْسَانُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ الْكَرِيمِ {٦} |
6. O man! What has deceived you away from your Lord, the Most Beneficent? |
| الَّذِي خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّاكَ فَعَدَلَكَ {٧} |
7. The One Who created you, then moulded you, then made you proper? |
| فِي أَيِّ صُورَةٍ مَا شَاءَ رَكَّبَكَ {٨} |
8. He moulded you into whatever shape He willed. |
| كَلَّا بَلْ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِالدِّينِ {٩} |
9. Not at all – but rather you deny the establishment of Justice. |
| وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ لَحَافِظِينَ {١٠} |
10. And indeed there are some guardians over you. |
| كِرَامًا كَاتِبِينَ {١١} |
11. The honourable recorders. |
| يَعْلَمُونَ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ {١٢} |
12. Knowing all what you may do. |
| إِنَّ الْأَبْرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيمٍ {١٣} |
13. Indeed the virtuous are in serenity. |
| وَإِنَّ الْفُجَّارَ لَفِي جَحِيمٍ {١٤} |
14. And indeed the sinners are in hell. |
| يَصْلَوْنَهَا يَوْمَ الدِّينِ {١٥} |
15. They will enter it on the Day of Justice. |
| وَمَا هُمْ عَنْهَا بِغَائِبِينَ {١٦} |
16. And will not be able to hide from it. |
| وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الدِّينِ {١٧} |
17. And what do you know – of what sort is the Day of Justice! |
| ثُمَّ مَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الدِّينِ {١٨} |
18. Again, what do you know – of what sort is the Day of Justice! |
| يَوْمَ لَا تَمْلِكُ نَفْسٌ لِنَفْسٍ شَيْئًا ۖ وَالْأَمْرُ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلَّهِ {١٩} |
19. The day on which no soul will have the authority over any other soul; and on that day, the entire command belongs to Allah. |
