 |
| وَيْلٌ لِلْمُطَفِّفِينَ {١} |
1. Woe Unto the scrimpers: |
| الَّذِينَ إِذَا اكْتَالُوا عَلَى النَّاسِ يَسْتَوْفُونَ {٢} |
2. Those who, when they take by measure from mankind, exact the full, |
| وَإِذَا كَالُوهُمْ أَوْ وَزَنُوهُمْ يُخْسِرُونَ {٣} |
3. And who, when they measure Unto them or weigh for them, diminish. |
| أَلَا يَظُنُّ أُولَٰئِكَ أَنَّهُمْ مَبْعُوثُونَ {٤} |
4. Imagine such men not that they shall be raised up? |
| لِيَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ {٥} |
5. On a mighty Day. |
| يَوْمَ يَقُومُ النَّاسُ لِرَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ {٦} |
6. A Day whereon mankind shall stand before the Lord of the worlds? |
| كَلَّا إِنَّ كِتَابَ الْفُجَّارِ لَفِي سِجِّينٍ {٧} |
7. By no means! Verily the record of the ungodly is in Sijjin. |
| وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا سِجِّينٌ {٨} |
8. And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Sijjin is? |
| كِتَابٌ مَرْقُومٌ {٩} |
9. A record of misdeeds written. |
| وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ {١٠} |
10. Woe on that Day unto the belviers- |
| الَّذِينَ يُكَذِّبُونَ بِيَوْمِ الدِّينِ {١١} |
11. Those who belie the Day of Requital. |
| وَمَا يُكَذِّبُ بِهِ إِلَّا كُلُّ مُعْتَدٍ أَثِيمٍ {١٢} |
12. And none belieth it save each trespasser, sinner. |
| إِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِ آيَاتُنَا قَالَ أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ {١٣} |
13. And when Our revelations are rehearsed Unto him, she saith:´fables of the ancients! |
| كَلَّا ۖ بَلْ ۜ رَانَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ مَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ {١٤} |
14. By no means!´ Aye! encrusted upon their hearts is that which they have been earning. |
| كَلَّا إِنَّهُمْ عَنْ رَبِّهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ لَمَحْجُوبُونَ {١٥} |
15. By no means! Verily on that Day from their Lord they will be shut Out. |
| ثُمَّ إِنَّهُمْ لَصَالُو الْجَحِيمِ {١٦} |
16. Then verily they will be roasted into the Scorch. |
| ثُمَّ يُقَالُ هَٰذَا الَّذِي كُنْتُمْ بِهِ تُكَذِّبُونَ {١٧} |
17. Then it will be said: ´this is that which ye were wont to belie.´ |
| كَلَّا إِنَّ كِتَابَ الْأَبْرَارِ لَفِي عِلِّيِّينَ {١٨} |
18. By no means! Verily the record of the virtuous shall be in ´Illiyun. |
| وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا عِلِّيُّونَ {١٩} |
19. And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Illiyun is? |
| كِتَابٌ مَرْقُومٌ {٢٠} |
20. A record of good deeds written. |
| يَشْهَدُهُ الْمُقَرَّبُونَ {٢١} |
21. To which bear witness those brought nigh. |
| إِنَّ الْأَبْرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيمٍ {٢٢} |
22. Verily the virtuous shall be in Delight, |
| عَلَى الْأَرَائِكِ يَنْظُرُونَ {٢٣} |
23. Reclining on couches, looking on. |
| تَعْرِفُ فِي وُجُوهِهِمْ نَضْرَةَ النَّعِيمِ {٢٤} |
24. Thou wilt recognize in their faces the brightness of delight. |
| يُسْقَوْنَ مِنْ رَحِيقٍ مَخْتُومٍ {٢٥} |
25. They will be given to drink of pure wine, sealed. |
| خِتَامُهُ مِسْكٌ ۚ وَفِي ذَٰلِكَ فَلْيَتَنَافَسِ الْمُتَنَافِسُونَ {٢٦} |
26. The seal thereof will be of musk and to this end let the aspirers aspire - |
| وَمِزَاجُهُ مِنْ تَسْنِيمٍ {٢٧} |
27. And admixture thereof will be Water of Tasnim: |
| عَيْنًا يَشْرَبُ بِهَا الْمُقَرَّبُونَ {٢٨} |
28. A fountain whereof will drink those brought nigh. |
| إِنَّ الَّذِينَ أَجْرَمُوا كَانُوا مِنَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا يَضْحَكُونَ {٢٩} |
29. Veriiy those who have sinned were wont at those who had believed to laugh, |
| وَإِذَا مَرُّوا بِهِمْ يَتَغَامَزُونَ {٣٠} |
30. And, when they passed them, to wink at each other, |
| وَإِذَا انْقَلَبُوا إِلَىٰ أَهْلِهِمُ انْقَلَبُوا فَكِهِينَ {٣١} |
31. And when they returned to their household they returned jesting. |
| وَإِذَا رَأَوْهُمْ قَالُوا إِنَّ هَٰؤُلَاءِ لَضَالُّونَ {٣٢} |
32. And when they saw them, they said: verily these are the strayed ones. |
| وَمَا أُرْسِلُوا عَلَيْهِمْ حَافِظِينَ {٣٣} |
33. Whereas they were not sent over them as watchers. |
| فَالْيَوْمَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنَ الْكُفَّارِ يَضْحَكُونَ {٣٤} |
34. Wherefore Today, those who believed at the infidels are laughing, |
| عَلَى الْأَرَائِكِ يَنْظُرُونَ {٣٥} |
35. Reclining on couches, looking on. |
| هَلْ ثُوِّبَ الْكُفَّارُ مَا كَانُوا يَفْعَلُونَ {٣٦} |
36. The infidels have indeed been rewarded for that which they had been doing. |
 |
