 |
| إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انْشَقَّتْ {١} |
1. And listens to its Lord and is made fit; |
| وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ {٢} |
2. And when the earth is stretched, |
| وَإِذَا الْأَرْضُ مُدَّتْ {٣} |
3. And casts forth what is in it and becomes empty, |
| وَأَلْقَتْ مَا فِيهَا وَتَخَلَّتْ {٤} |
4. And listens to its Lord and is made fit. |
| وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ {٥} |
5. O man, thou must strive a hard striving (to attain) to thy Lord, until thou meet Him. |
| يَا أَيُّهَا الْإِنْسَانُ إِنَّكَ كَادِحٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ كَدْحًا فَمُلَاقِيهِ {٦} |
6. Then as to him who is given his book in his right hand, |
| فَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَهُ بِيَمِينِهِ {٧} |
7. His account will be taken by an easy reckoning, |
| فَسَوْفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابًا يَسِيرًا {٨} |
8. And he will go back to his people rejoicing. |
| وَيَنْقَلِبُ إِلَىٰ أَهْلِهِ مَسْرُورًا {٩} |
9. And as to him who is given his book behind his back, |
| وَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَهُ وَرَاءَ ظَهْرِهِ {١٠} |
10. He will call for perdition, |
| فَسَوْفَ يَدْعُو ثُبُورًا {١١} |
11. And enter into burning Fire. |
| وَيَصْلَىٰ سَعِيرًا {١٢} |
12. Surely he was (erstwhile) joyful among his people. |
| إِنَّهُ كَانَ فِي أَهْلِهِ مَسْرُورًا {١٣} |
13. Surely he thought that he would never return (to Allah) -- |
| إِنَّهُ ظَنَّ أَنْ لَنْ يَحُورَ {١٤} |
14. Yea, surely his Lord is ever Seer of him. |
| بَلَىٰ إِنَّ رَبَّهُ كَانَ بِهِ بَصِيرًا {١٥} |
15. But nay, I call to witness the sunset redness, |
| فَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِالشَّفَقِ {١٦} |
16. And the night and that which it drives on, |
| وَاللَّيْلِ وَمَا وَسَقَ {١٧} |
17. And the moon when it grows full, |
| وَالْقَمَرِ إِذَا اتَّسَقَ {١٨} |
18. That you shall certainly ascend to one state after another. |
| لَتَرْكَبُنَّ طَبَقًا عَنْ طَبَقٍ {١٩} |
19. But what is the matter with them that they believe not? |
| فَمَا لَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ {٢٠} |
20. And, when the Qur’an is recited to thee, they adore (him) not? |
| وَإِذَا قُرِئَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقُرْآنُ لَا يَسْجُدُونَ ۩ {٢١} |
21. Nay, those who disbelieve give the lie -- |
| بَلِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا يُكَذِّبُونَ {٢٢} |
22. And Allah knows best what they hide. |
| وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يُوعُونَ {٢٣} |
23. So announce to them a painful chastisement, |
| فَبَشِّرْهُمْ بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ {٢٤} |
24. Except those who believe and do good -- for them is a reward that shall never be cut off. |
| إِلَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَهُمْ أَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُونٍ {٢٥} |
25. By the heaven full of stars! |
