 |
| وَالسَّمَاءِ ذَاتِ الْبُرُوجِ {١} |
1. By the heavens with constellations, |
| وَالْيَوْمِ الْمَوْعُودِ {٢} |
2. by the promised day, |
| وَشَاهِدٍ وَمَشْهُودٍ {٣} |
3. and by the witness (Muhammad) and that which is witnessed (the Day of Judgment), |
| قُتِلَ أَصْحَابُ الْأُخْدُودِ {٤} |
4. may the people be condemned those who tortured (the believers) in ditches |
| النَّارِ ذَاتِ الْوَقُودِ {٥} |
5. by a burning fire |
| إِذْ هُمْ عَلَيْهَا قُعُودٌ {٦} |
6. while they themselves sat around it |
| وَهُمْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَفْعَلُونَ بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ شُهُودٌ {٧} |
7. witnessing what they were doing. |
| وَمَا نَقَمُوا مِنْهُمْ إِلَّا أَنْ يُؤْمِنُوا بِاللَّهِ الْعَزِيزِ الْحَمِيدِ {٨} |
8. The only reason for which they tormented the believers was the latter´s belief in God, the Majestic, and Praiseworthy. |
| الَّذِي لَهُ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۚ وَاللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ شَهِيدٌ {٩} |
9. and the One to whom belongs the heavens and the earth. God is the Witness of all things. |
| إِنَّ الَّذِينَ فَتَنُوا الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَتُوبُوا فَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ الْحَرِيقِ {١٠} |
10. Those who persecute the believing men and women without repenting will suffer the torment of hell and that of the burning fire. |
| إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَهُمْ جَنَّاتٌ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ الْفَوْزُ الْكَبِيرُ {١١} |
11. As for the righteously striving believers, they will live in Paradise wherein streams flow. This is the greatest triumph. |
| إِنَّ بَطْشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيدٌ {١٢} |
12. The vengeance of God is terribly severe. |
| إِنَّهُ هُوَ يُبْدِئُ وَيُعِيدُ {١٣} |
13. It is He who creates all things and causes them to return. |
| وَهُوَ الْغَفُورُ الْوَدُودُ {١٤} |
14. He is the All-forgiving, the Most Loving One, |
| ذُو الْعَرْشِ الْمَجِيدُ {١٥} |
15. the Owner of the Throne, the Glorious One, |
| فَعَّالٌ لِمَا يُرِيدُ {١٦} |
16. and the Most Effective in His decision. |
| هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ الْجُنُودِ {١٧} |
17. Have you not heard about the stories of the armies |
| فِرْعَوْنَ وَثَمُودَ {١٨} |
18. of the Pharaoh and Thamud? |
| بَلِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فِي تَكْذِيبٍ {١٩} |
19. In fact, the disbelievers had always rejected (Our revelations). |
| وَاللَّهُ مِنْ وَرَائِهِمْ مُحِيطٌ {٢٠} |
20. However, God encompassed their activities. |
| بَلْ هُوَ قُرْآنٌ مَجِيدٌ {٢١} |
21. What is revealed to you is certainly a glorious Quran |
| فِي لَوْحٍ مَحْفُوظٍ {٢٢} |
22. that exists in a well-guarded tablet. |
