 |
| سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى {١} |
1. Glorify the name of your Guardian Lord most High, |
| الَّذِي خَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ {٢} |
2. Who created and makes order and proportion, |
| وَالَّذِي قَدَّرَ فَهَدَىٰ {٣} |
3. Who ordains Laws and Guides, |
| وَالَّذِي أَخْرَجَ الْمَرْعَىٰ {٤} |
4. Who brings forth the pasture, |
| فَجَعَلَهُ غُثَاءً أَحْوَىٰ {٥} |
5. Then turns it to dusky stubble! |
| سَنُقْرِئُكَ فَلَا تَنْسَىٰ {٦} |
6. We will teach you by degrees to declare (or recite), and you shall not forget, |
| إِلَّا مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّهُ يَعْلَمُ الْجَهْرَ وَمَا يَخْفَىٰ {٧} |
7. Save what Allah wills. Verily, Lo! He knows the open and the hidden; |
| وَنُيَسِّرُكَ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ {٨} |
8. And We will ease your way into the simple (path); |
| فَذَكِّرْ إِنْ نَفَعَتِ الذِّكْرَىٰ {٩} |
9. Therefore, remind men, for, verily, the reminder is useful. |
| سَيَذَّكَّرُ مَنْ يَخْشَىٰ {١٠} |
10. But he who fears will be mindful; |
| وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا الْأَشْقَى {١١} |
11. And the wretch will avoid it; |
| الَّذِي يَصْلَى النَّارَ الْكُبْرَىٰ {١٢} |
12. He will broil in the great Fire, |
| ثُمَّ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحْيَىٰ {١٣} |
13. Wherein he shall neither die nor live! |
| قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَنْ تَزَكَّىٰ {١٤} |
14. He is successful who grows, |
| وَذَكَرَ اسْمَ رَبِّهِ فَصَلَّىٰ {١٥} |
15. And remembers the name of his Lord and prays! |
| بَلْ تُؤْثِرُونَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا {١٦} |
16. Nay! But you prefer the life of this world, |
| وَالْآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَىٰ {١٧} |
17. Although the Hereafter is better and more lasting. |
| إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَفِي الصُّحُفِ الْأُولَىٰ {١٨} |
18. Verily, this was in the former books, |
| صُحُفِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ {١٩} |
19. The books of Abraham and Moses. |
