 |
| هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ الْغَاشِيَةِ {١} |
1. Has the story reached you, of the overwhelming? |
| وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ خَاشِعَةٌ {٢} |
2. Some faces on that day shall be humbled, |
| عَامِلَةٌ نَاصِبَةٌ {٣} |
3. Toiling, weary, |
| تَصْلَىٰ نَارًا حَامِيَةً {٤} |
4. While they broil upon a burning Fire; |
| تُسْقَىٰ مِنْ عَيْنٍ آنِيَةٍ {٥} |
5. While they drink from a boiling spring! |
| لَيْسَ لَهُمْ طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِنْ ضَرِيعٍ {٦} |
6. No food shall they have save from the bitter Dhari, |
| لَا يُسْمِنُ وَلَا يُغْنِي مِنْ جُوعٍ {٧} |
7. Which shall not nourish nor avail against hunger! |
| وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَاعِمَةٌ {٨} |
8. Other faces on that day shall be joyful, |
| لِسَعْيِهَا رَاضِيَةٌ {٩} |
9. Content with their past endeavours, |
| فِي جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٍ {١٠} |
10. In a lofty (sublime) Garden |
| لَا تَسْمَعُ فِيهَا لَاغِيَةً {١١} |
11. Wherein they shall hear no foolish word; |
| فِيهَا عَيْنٌ جَارِيَةٌ {١٢} |
12. Wherein is a flowing fountain; |
| فِيهَا سُرُرٌ مَرْفُوعَةٌ {١٣} |
13. Wherein are Thrones (of dignity) raised on high, |
| وَأَكْوَابٌ مَوْضُوعَةٌ {١٤} |
14. And goblets set down ready, |
| وَنَمَارِقُ مَصْفُوفَةٌ {١٥} |
15. And cushions arranged, |
| وَزَرَابِيُّ مَبْثُوثَةٌ {١٦} |
16. And carpets spread! |
| أَفَلَا يَنْظُرُونَ إِلَى الْإِبِلِ كَيْفَ خُلِقَتْ {١٧} |
17. Do they not look then at the camel, how she is created? |
| وَإِلَى السَّمَاءِ كَيْفَ رُفِعَتْ {١٨} |
18. And at the heaven how it is raised high? |
| وَإِلَى الْجِبَالِ كَيْفَ نُصِبَتْ {١٩} |
19. And at the mountains how they are set firm? |
| وَإِلَى الْأَرْضِ كَيْفَ سُطِحَتْ {٢٠} |
20. And at the earth how it is spread out? |
| فَذَكِّرْ إِنَّمَا أَنْتَ مُذَكِّرٌ {٢١} |
21. Therefore, remind them: for you are only one to remind; |
| لَسْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ بِمُصَيْطِرٍ {٢٢} |
22. you are not in authority over them; |
| إِلَّا مَنْ تَوَلَّىٰ وَكَفَرَ {٢٣} |
23. But such as turns his back and disbelieves, |
| فَيُعَذِّبُهُ اللَّهُ الْعَذَابَ الْأَكْبَرَ {٢٤} |
24. Him will Allah punish with the greatest torment. |
| إِنَّ إِلَيْنَا إِيَابَهُمْ {٢٥} |
25. Verily, unto us is their return, |
| ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا حِسَابَهُمْ {٢٦} |
26. And, verily, for Us is their accounting! |
