 |
| هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ الْغَاشِيَةِ {١} |
1. Hath there come unto thee tidings of the Overwhelming? |
| وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ خَاشِعَةٌ {٢} |
2. On that day (many) faces will be downcast, |
| عَامِلَةٌ نَاصِبَةٌ {٣} |
3. Toiling, weary, |
| تَصْلَىٰ نَارًا حَامِيَةً {٤} |
4. Scorched by burning fire, |
| تُسْقَىٰ مِنْ عَيْنٍ آنِيَةٍ {٥} |
5. Drinking from a boiling spring, |
| لَيْسَ لَهُمْ طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِنْ ضَرِيعٍ {٦} |
6. No food for them save bitter thorn-fruit |
| لَا يُسْمِنُ وَلَا يُغْنِي مِنْ جُوعٍ {٧} |
7. Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger. |
| وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَاعِمَةٌ {٨} |
8. In that day other faces will be calm, |
| لِسَعْيِهَا رَاضِيَةٌ {٩} |
9. Glad for their effort past, |
| فِي جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٍ {١٠} |
10. In a high Garden |
| لَا تَسْمَعُ فِيهَا لَاغِيَةً {١١} |
11. Where they hear no idle speech, |
| فِيهَا عَيْنٌ جَارِيَةٌ {١٢} |
12. Wherein is a gushing spring, |
| فِيهَا سُرُرٌ مَرْفُوعَةٌ {١٣} |
13. Wherein are couches raised |
| وَأَكْوَابٌ مَوْضُوعَةٌ {١٤} |
14. And goblets set at hand |
| وَنَمَارِقُ مَصْفُوفَةٌ {١٥} |
15. And cushions ranged |
| وَزَرَابِيُّ مَبْثُوثَةٌ {١٦} |
16. And silken carpets spread. |
| أَفَلَا يَنْظُرُونَ إِلَى الْإِبِلِ كَيْفَ خُلِقَتْ {١٧} |
17. Will they not regard the camels, how they are created? |
| وَإِلَى السَّمَاءِ كَيْفَ رُفِعَتْ {١٨} |
18. And the heaven, how it is raised? |
| وَإِلَى الْجِبَالِ كَيْفَ نُصِبَتْ {١٩} |
19. And the hills, how they are set up? |
| وَإِلَى الْأَرْضِ كَيْفَ سُطِحَتْ {٢٠} |
20. And the earth, how it is spread? |
| فَذَكِّرْ إِنَّمَا أَنْتَ مُذَكِّرٌ {٢١} |
21. Remind them, for thou art but a remembrancer, |
| لَسْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ بِمُصَيْطِرٍ {٢٢} |
22. Thou art not at all a warder over them. |
| إِلَّا مَنْ تَوَلَّىٰ وَكَفَرَ {٢٣} |
23. But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, |
| فَيُعَذِّبُهُ اللَّهُ الْعَذَابَ الْأَكْبَرَ {٢٤} |
24. Allah will punish him with direst punishment. |
| إِنَّ إِلَيْنَا إِيَابَهُمْ {٢٥} |
25. Lo! unto Us is their return |
| ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا حِسَابَهُمْ {٢٦} |
26. And Ours their reckoning. |
