 |
| وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰ {١} |
1. And the day when it shines! |
| وَالنَّهَارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّىٰ {٢} |
2. And the creating of the male and the female! -- |
| وَمَا خَلَقَ الذَّكَرَ وَالْأُنْثَىٰ {٣} |
3. Your striving is surely (for) diverse (ends). |
| إِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ لَشَتَّىٰ {٤} |
4. Then as for him who gives and keeps his duty, |
| فَأَمَّا مَنْ أَعْطَىٰ وَاتَّقَىٰ {٥} |
5. And accepts what is good -- |
| وَصَدَّقَ بِالْحُسْنَىٰ {٦} |
6. We facilitate for him (the way to) ease. |
| فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ {٧} |
7. And as for him who is niggardly and considers himself self-sufficient, |
| وَأَمَّا مَنْ بَخِلَ وَاسْتَغْنَىٰ {٨} |
8. And rejects what is good -- |
| وَكَذَّبَ بِالْحُسْنَىٰ {٩} |
9. We facilitate for him (the way to) distress. |
| فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْعُسْرَىٰ {١٠} |
10. And his wealth will not avail him when he perishes. |
| وَمَا يُغْنِي عَنْهُ مَالُهُ إِذَا تَرَدَّىٰ {١١} |
11. Surely Ours is it to show the way, |
| إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا لَلْهُدَىٰ {١٢} |
12. And surely Ours is the Hereafter and the former. |
| وَإِنَّ لَنَا لَلْآخِرَةَ وَالْأُولَىٰ {١٣} |
13. So I warn you of the Fire that flames. |
| فَأَنْذَرْتُكُمْ نَارًا تَلَظَّىٰ {١٤} |
14. None will enter it but the most unfortunate, |
| لَا يَصْلَاهَا إِلَّا الْأَشْقَى {١٥} |
15. Who rejects (the truth) and turns (his) back. |
| الَّذِي كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ {١٦} |
16. And away from it shall be kept the most faithful to duty, |
| وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَا الْأَتْقَى {١٧} |
17. Who gives his wealth, purifying himself, |
| الَّذِي يُؤْتِي مَالَهُ يَتَزَكَّىٰ {١٨} |
18. And none has with him any boon for a reward, |
| وَمَا لِأَحَدٍ عِنْدَهُ مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ تُجْزَىٰ {١٩} |
19. Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High. |
| إِلَّا ابْتِغَاءَ وَجْهِ رَبِّهِ الْأَعْلَىٰ {٢٠} |
20. And he will soon be well-pleased. |
| وَلَسَوْفَ يَرْضَىٰ {٢١} |
21. By the brightness of the day! |
