| أَلَمْ نَشْرَحْ لَكَ صَدْرَكَ {١} |
1. Have We not caused thy bosom to dilate, |
| وَوَضَعْنَا عَنْكَ وِزْرَكَ {٢} |
2. And eased thee of the burden |
| الَّذِي أَنْقَضَ ظَهْرَكَ {٣} |
3. Which weighed down thy back; |
| وَرَفَعْنَا لَكَ ذِكْرَكَ {٤} |
4. And exalted thy fame? |
| فَإِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا {٥} |
5. But lo! with hardship goeth ease, |
| إِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا {٦} |
6. Lo! with hardship goeth ease; |
| فَإِذَا فَرَغْتَ فَانْصَبْ {٧} |
7. So when thou art relieved, still toil |
| وَإِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَارْغَبْ {٨} |
8. And strive to please thy Lord. |
