 |
| اقْرَأْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ {١} |
1. Read with the name of your Lord Who created, |
| خَلَقَ الْإِنْسَانَ مِنْ عَلَقٍ {٢} |
2. Created man from a clot. |
| اقْرَأْ وَرَبُّكَ الْأَكْرَمُ {٣} |
3. Read, and your Lord only is the Most Beneficent, |
| الَّذِي عَلَّمَ بِالْقَلَمِ {٤} |
4. The One Who taught to write with the pen. |
| عَلَّمَ الْإِنْسَانَ مَا لَمْ يَعْلَمْ {٥} |
5. The One Who taught man all what he did not know. |
| كَلَّا إِنَّ الْإِنْسَانَ لَيَطْغَىٰ {٦} |
6. Yes indeed, man is surely rebellious. |
| أَنْ رَآهُ اسْتَغْنَىٰ {٧} |
7. As he considers himself independent! |
| إِنَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ الرُّجْعَىٰ {٨} |
8. Indeed towards your Lord only is the return. |
| أَرَأَيْتَ الَّذِي يَنْهَىٰ {٩} |
9. What is your opinion – regarding him who forbids - |
| عَبْدًا إِذَا صَلَّىٰ {١٠} |
10. A bondman when he offers the prayer? |
| أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ كَانَ عَلَى الْهُدَىٰ {١١} |
11. What is your opinion – if he were upon guidance, |
| أَوْ أَمَرَ بِالتَّقْوَىٰ {١٢} |
12. He would enjoin piety, so how good it would be! |
| أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ {١٣} |
13. What is your opinion – if he denies and turns away, how wretched will be his state! |
| أَلَمْ يَعْلَمْ بِأَنَّ اللَّهَ يَرَىٰ {١٤} |
14. Did he not realise that Allah is watching? |
| كَلَّا لَئِنْ لَمْ يَنْتَهِ لَنَسْفَعًا بِالنَّاصِيَةِ {١٥} |
15. Yes certainly, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock. |
| نَاصِيَةٍ كَاذِبَةٍ خَاطِئَةٍ {١٦} |
16. A forelock that lies, is sinful. |
| فَلْيَدْعُ نَادِيَهُ {١٧} |
17. So let him now call his gang! |
| سَنَدْعُ الزَّبَانِيَةَ {١٨} |
18. We will now call the guards! |
| كَلَّا لَا تُطِعْهُ وَاسْجُدْ وَاقْتَرِبْ ۩ {١٩} |
19. Yes indeed; do not listen to him - and prostrate, and become close to Us. (Command of Prostration # 14) |
