 |
| اقْرَأْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ {١} |
1. Read: In the name of thy Lord Who createth, |
| خَلَقَ الْإِنْسَانَ مِنْ عَلَقٍ {٢} |
2. Createth man from a clot. |
| اقْرَأْ وَرَبُّكَ الْأَكْرَمُ {٣} |
3. Read: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, |
| الَّذِي عَلَّمَ بِالْقَلَمِ {٤} |
4. Who teacheth by the pen, |
| عَلَّمَ الْإِنْسَانَ مَا لَمْ يَعْلَمْ {٥} |
5. Teacheth man that which he knew not. |
| كَلَّا إِنَّ الْإِنْسَانَ لَيَطْغَىٰ {٦} |
6. Nay, but verily man is rebellious |
| أَنْ رَآهُ اسْتَغْنَىٰ {٧} |
7. That he thinketh himself independent! |
| إِنَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ الرُّجْعَىٰ {٨} |
8. Lo! unto thy Lord is the return. |
| أَرَأَيْتَ الَّذِي يَنْهَىٰ {٩} |
9. Hast thou seen him who dissuadeth |
| عَبْدًا إِذَا صَلَّىٰ {١٠} |
10. A slave when he prayeth? |
| أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ كَانَ عَلَى الْهُدَىٰ {١١} |
11. Hast thou seen if he relieth on the guidance (of Allah) |
| أَوْ أَمَرَ بِالتَّقْوَىٰ {١٢} |
12. Or enjoineth piety? |
| أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ {١٣} |
13. Hast thou seen if he denieth (Allah´s guidance) and is froward? |
| أَلَمْ يَعْلَمْ بِأَنَّ اللَّهَ يَرَىٰ {١٤} |
14. Is he then unaware that Allah seeth? |
| كَلَّا لَئِنْ لَمْ يَنْتَهِ لَنَسْفَعًا بِالنَّاصِيَةِ {١٥} |
15. Nay, but if he cease not We will seize him by the forelock - |
| نَاصِيَةٍ كَاذِبَةٍ خَاطِئَةٍ {١٦} |
16. The lying, sinful forelock - |
| فَلْيَدْعُ نَادِيَهُ {١٧} |
17. Then let him call upon his henchmen! |
| سَنَدْعُ الزَّبَانِيَةَ {١٨} |
18. We will call the guards of hell. |
| كَلَّا لَا تُطِعْهُ وَاسْجُدْ وَاقْتَرِبْ ۩ {١٩} |
19. Nay, Obey not thou him. But prostrate thyself, and draw near (unto Allah). |
